Accuracy is very important. We suggest capturing the lie and distance for each shot as best you can; If unsure of the lie, please use the best judgment.

To highlight the importance of lie accuracy, let's use an example:

We have two professional players; Player A has a 12 yard shot from the rough and hits the ball on the green to 6 feet. Player B has a 12 yard shot from the fairway and also hits the ball onto the green to 6 feet.

The results:

  • Player A is -0.15 SG from the fairway, i.e., he has lost shots to his peers.

  • Players B, from the rough, gained shots to his peers by 0.06SG.
